What we do for accounting firms
Eight weeks of the year decide the rest of it, and the software you run during them is not the software most IT companies want to deal with. Here is how we handle both.
-
The software you already run
We support Lacerte and CCH ProSystem fx — the current year and the prior years you are still required to open. Nobody has to explain to us why a 2019 return needs 2019 software.
-
Nobody talks you out of what works
Where legacy software is still doing its job, we keep it doing its job rather than making a migration out of it. Where a discontinued system has become a real liability — the kind that can affect your insurance — we tell you plainly and move you off it carefully, out of season.
-
Every preparer on the same version
One version across every workstation, so two people opening the same return are looking at the same thing. Version drift between preparers is a quiet problem in January and a loud one in April.
-
Sized for February, not for a quiet Tuesday
Systems built for the load at its worst rather than its average, so the week everything is due is not the week everything slows down.
-
Old machines stop holding people up
Heavy processing moves into a virtual environment, so a five-year-old PC runs tax software at full speed instead of being the reason a preparer is waiting on a screen.
-
The files come back
Backups are only worth what a restore proves. Yours get checked, so the answer to “can we get that client’s file back” is known before the day you need it.
-
Ransomware stays out
Gateway filtering, antivirus and intrusion prevention sit in front of your client records — because a firm holding several hundred families’ financial data is worth more to an attacker than it looks.
We do not sell services off a menu. If some of this is already handled and you only need one piece, that is the conversation — and if we are not the right fit, we will say so.
